Your Andalucía Art Holiday Kit List
Phil has deliberately kept the kit list simple — you do not need a large amount of equipment for the holiday.
Those who already draw and paint are very welcome to bring the materials they know and enjoy using. Those who are newer to drawing and painting can use this list as a helpful starting point.
There is no need to buy everything immediately. Before the holiday, each guest will have an individual online conversation with Phil to discuss their creative interests, preferred materials and any questions about the kit.
Your goodie bag
Phil will provide each guest with a complimentary selection of creative materials, together with a branded tote bag.
The goodie bag will include:

🖌️Watercolour markers
🖌️Alcohol-based ProMarkers
🖌️A Shoreditch Sketcher tote bag
Paper and sketchbooks
Please bring a portable sketchbook or drawing book. An A5 or A4 size is ideal, although those who are comfortable working at a larger scale are welcome to bring A3.
Phil uses an A5 Moleskine sketchbook with watercolour, but please bring the type of book you feel most comfortable using.
A wire-bound or case-bound book that opens flat is particularly practical.
When using water-based materials, please make sure the paper is suitable for watercolour or mixed media.
Loose sheets of paper are also suitable when used with a lightweight board and bulldog clips.
Drawing equipment
Please bring:
- A selection of drawing pencils, from HB through to softer grades
- An eraser
- A pencil sharpener
Pens
Phil will provide black fineliners as part of the goodie bag.
Those who already have a favourite pen or brand are very welcome to bring their own. Suitable options include:
- Edding 55
- Copic Multiliner
- Staedtler Pigment Liner
- Similar waterproof fineliners in a selection of nib sizes
Optional materials
During the holiday, the group will experiment with a range of techniques. Guests may also enjoy bringing:
- A watercolour pan set that they are comfortable using
- Coloured pens
- Coloured pencils
- Watercolour pencils
Phil will provide alcohol-based markers and watercolour markers.
General items
Please also bring:
- A reusable water bottle
- A sun hat
- A inflatable cushion or lightweight fold-up chair -optional but useful
Before buying anything
Please do not feel that you need to buy an entirely new collection of art materials.
Phil will meet with each guest individually online before the holiday. This will be an opportunity to discuss:
- Your creative interests and experience
- What you would particularly like help with
- Techniques or materials you would like to explore
- Equipment you already own and enjoy using
- Any concerns or questions about the creative side of the holiday
The kit can then be refined to suit each person.
