India is a place that stirs the senses. From jewel-toned saris to intricately carved doorways, there’s colour, pattern and life at every turn — and for artists, that energy from a Rajasthan Tour is endlessly inspiring. A creative journey through colour, culture and connection
Our Art & Craft Tour of Rajasthan is an invitation to slow down and reconnect with your creativity, working with colour, texture and traditional techniques under the expert guidance of artist Charlotte Gerrard.
This is more than a sightseeing trip. It’s a chance to travel through India with open eyes and open sketchbooks, allowing the spirit of Rajasthan to shape your work — in a way that’s playful, expressive and uniquely yours.
🎨 Rajasthan Tour: Guided by Artist Charlotte Gerrard

Charlotte’s own practice is deeply influenced by India — from the colour palettes to the iconography of everyday life. On this tour, she’ll share how to draw inspiration from your surroundings, using a mix of contemporary and traditional techniques.
We’ll be sketching in the street and enjoying a series of art workshops. Workshops are varied, with space for playful experimentation as well as focused development — whether you want to try something new or push a personal project further.
🧵 Hands-On Craft Experiences
Alongside the art, you will experience hands-on crafts. You’ll learn directly from artisans who’ve spent generations mastering their technique — not just observing, but joining in.
You’ll experience:
- Block printing in the village of Bagru
- Natural dyeing at Nila House, a centre for regenerative design
- Mud-resist (Dabu) printing near Udaipur
These sessions offer a rare chance to work alongside makers who are part of India’s living craft heritage — and to understand the rhythms, values, and beauty of their work.

🕌 Rajasthan as Your Studio

The journey takes you from the buzzing markets of Jaipur to the peaceful lakes of Pushkar, the beautiful palace at Bundi and the buzzing streets of Udaipur. Every stop becomes part of your creative palette.
You’ll have time to gather inspiration — from hand-painted signs and temple bells to faded walls, patterned tiles, marigold offerings and street cows. These everyday moments often become the most memorable sketches and collages.
You’ll explore materials like gold leaf, sari fabrics, dyes and found objects, collage and mixed media.
🤝 Travel with Intention
This art and craft tour is created for curious, open-hearted creatives — whether you’re returning to art after years away, looking for new energy in your practice or a beginner. You’ll travel with a small, supportive group, with every detail taken care of by tour organiser Louisa de Jong.
It’s a deeply personal experience, full of colour, connection and creative freedom — and one that many guests describe as transformational.
There’s no pressure to keep up or perform. You’ll be encouraged to work at your own pace, with Charlotte there to support you, offer new approaches, and help you express your ideas with confidence.
